Pneumatic Equipment -- The heart of your conveying system
Andritz Sprout valves provide rugged, trouble-free performance
as pneumatic equipment feeders and airlocks in both vacuum
and low pressure positive pneumatic equipment systems. You
can choose from a wide range
of sizes,
models and construction materials for versatile use in most
dilute-phase pneumatic conveying and feeding systems. Because
of our modular construction, you can stock fewer parts, reducing
inventory costs. End plates, housings, and different rotor
styles can be interchanged in the field. We back our valves
with experienced service technicians, and stock a full range
of equipment—as well as finished valves. You can count
on fast, dependable delivery of pneumatic equipment.
Pneumatic Equipment for Abrasive
and Corrosive Systems
For abrasive applications, the rotor
shrouds and the housing
bore on our pneumatic equipment can be hard-surfaced with
a variety of abrasive resistant coatings and inlays, including
stellite
or tungsten
carbide
for extremely abrasive conditions. Highly corrosive-resistant
alloys are also available. The split packing gland allows
easy access to the stuffing boxes, where four rings of packing
maintain a proper seal, increase packing life, and cut maintenance
costs. The packing arrangement can accommodate a lantern
ring for purging, when the product is abrasive or difficult
to seal. Compressed air is piped into the lantern ring at
a pressure two to five pounds above the pneumatic equipment’s
internal pressure. The stuffing box can also accept a variety
of mechanical
seals.
Options
Modular pneumatic equipment such as rotary valves are usually

reducer and
C-face
or
gear-motor drive packages. Other options include:
- right-angle gear
motors
- variable speed drives
- weather-tight or oil-tight
guards
- motion switches
- shearpin sprockets
- lantern
rings
