Plug-type Diverter Valve
The Andritz Sprout two-way plug-type diverter valve directs powders,
pellets, or granular materials from one or two line in air conveying
systems with minimum leakage and contamination. Designed to contain
gases and fine particles, the plug valve is best suited for applications
where severe leakage or contamination must be minimized.
The plug-type valve can be used in both positive negative-pressure,
dilute phase conveying systems with line sizes from 2 to 12" in
diameter.
To assure the tightest possible seal, plug and casing surfaces
are precision-machined, an "O" ring seal is provided
between the end plate and housing, and shafts are fitted with packing
glands. The shaft turns in bronze bushings.
Both ends of the housing contain air or gas-purged taps with a
pressure regulator to prevent product build-up between the plug
and housing, thus eliminating abrasion, finger-nailing and contamination.
Valve positioning is usually accomplished by an air cylinder.
Valves are cast of either all stainless steel or aluminum housing
with stainless plug.
Connections are flanged, and the valve is supported by piping
or supports attached to the back of the flanges. The valve can
be mounted in any position; however, when momentary position contacts
are used, valve positioning must be specified.
A field-installed weather hood is recommended when the valve will
be used outdoors in cold climates.
