Pellet Mills Designed for Bio Fuel Applications
Robust, Easy to Maintain Design
The most rugged design available: Andritz Sprout
single reduction belt-driven mills have performed
reliably, decade after decade.
The power train features two rugged bearings,
a main shaft, and a die housing. Fewer parts
mean less wear, clean operation, and lower
maintenance costs.
The resilient V-belt drive protects the drive train from
severe shock loads, while the flywheel effect of the
mill sheave dampens pelleting surges.
Tapered Die Mounting
The pellet mill has an operator-friendly, taperedmount,
bolted die. The self-piloting effect makes
changing dies easy and reduces time needed to
change dies. Once the die is aligned, only the final
1/8” requires full torque on the bolts to secure the die.
The die is symmetrical and can be turned, prolonging
life and maintaining proper performance.
Renewable Wear Rings
The die and the die stiffener ring come with split,
replaceable wear rings for die mounting. No tools
are required for installation.
Balanced Roll Assembly Design
Three, wide roll shells, with a narrow track width,
are supplied; sturdy, tapered roller bearings minimize
die stress. Independent dual roller adjustment simply
and effectively maintains proper roll-to-die clearance.
Safety Protection
The shear key system protects the pellet mill against
damage from foreign material entering the die cavity.
A proximity switch interlocked with the motor starter
cuts power to the mill when the shear keys break.
Die & Roll Hoist
The optional electric hoist with lifting tools facilitates
quick and easy die and roll change and enhances safety.
